Structure was originally developed by HAI to deliver a product that was comparable in appearance to rusting steel structures – but without the negative factors such as weakened construction, unsightly runners down other parts of the structure and without crumbling and other residual products.
Texture is a pre-treatment and a process where you remove the uniformity and add texture to the surface of the aluminum. Structure is perfect if you want a rust-like look on your items.
We recommend that you do not treat small/thin plates, as the process etches the surface.
The structural treatment is a thorough change of the aluminum surface on plate constructions. It can be directional, so that it looks like violent patina that drags down the subject.
The structural treatment is often used in connection with architecture, where a unique and broken surface is desired. HAI therefore delivers it in all of our outdoor colours, so that a unique expression can be created regardless of color preference.
Blowing is an effective mechanical pre-treatment that is used when there are special requirements for the aluminum's structure or hardness. Blasting leaves a nice, uniform and matte surface at the same time, the treatment can to a certain extent remedy machining surfaces, grinding marks, tensile and heat streaks, which are visible on the raw material. This is due to changes in the material structure, which achieves the more uniform surface and with a matte appearance before further processing.
HAI offers several different blowing media with different roughness in the structure to give the uniform surface a broken structure.
We have different variants of blowing agents, where depending on the desired result, you can choose between; glass beads, precious corundum, stainless steel balls, stainless steel grit and mixed blasting agent.

The treatment takes place in a closed cabin, where our operators blow fine grains of glass against the aluminum blanks. This achieves a uniform surface and a nice finish on the entire item.
Blowing is a pre-treatment process that can be equated with other mechanical pre-treatments such as grinding, brushing and polishing.
HAI can blow glass profiles up to 8 meters in a continuous plant and offers economically advantageous glass blowing in fully automatic plants.
