Mechanical pre-treatment is a process in which a surface is treated by applying mechanical treatments such as grinding, polishing, glass blowing or deburring to give a brushed, honed, matte finish, remove unwanted materials or create a smoother surface. This can prepare the surface for further treatment such as wet painting or anodizing.
