Mechanical polishing has no effect on scratches and minor damage, and the structure will have a glossy and mirror-like surface after treatment. Suitable alloys are aluminum alloys for most extruded profiles and sheets. If a high gloss is desired, pure alloys must be used.

Blowing is an effective mechanical pre-treatment that is used when there are special requirements for the aluminum's structure or hardness. Blasting leaves a nice, uniform and matte surface at the same time, the treatment can to a certain extent remedy machining surfaces, grinding marks, tensile and heat streaks, which are visible on the raw material. This is due to changes in the material structure, which achieves the more uniform surface and with a matte appearance before further processing.
