Mechanical grinding is an effective treatment that is used when there are special requirements for the structure of the aluminium. Mechanical sanding produces an even surface with fine stripes in the sanding direction.
The stripes can vary depending on the choice of grain size, where the possibilities are many.
With mechanical grinding, the naturally built-up oxide layer is removed, and a more evenly structured surface is created. When sanding the straight surfaces of the aluminum workpiece in a sanding machine, it is the grain size of the sanding belt that indicates the stripes produced. For aluminium, sanding belts from K50-K600, or Scotch-Brite from Very Fine (blue) to Medium (red) are used.
We have a sanding belt to suit your sanding needs, regardless of the application or the physical characteristics of the component.
E1 | Grinding | The surface is sanded with a sanding belt. Removes most defects in the surface, and leaves a harmonious sanding image. It is important to define how coarse a grinding is desired. |
E8 | Grinding or polishing followed by chemical polishing | The process leaves a shiny and smooth surface, with the visible effect of previous grinding or polishing. |
Blowing is an effective mechanical pre-treatment that is used when there are special requirements for the aluminum's structure or hardness. Blasting leaves a nice, uniform and matte surface at the same time, the treatment can to a certain extent remedy machining surfaces, grinding marks, tensile and heat streaks, which are visible on the raw material. This is due to changes in the material structure, which achieves the more uniform surface and with a matte appearance before further processing.
HAI offers several different blowing media with different roughness in the structure to give the uniform surface a broken structure.
We have different variants of blowing agents, where depending on the desired result, you can choose between; glass beads, precious corundum, stainless steel balls, stainless steel grit and mixed blasting agent.
We have a blowing agent that suits your needs regardless of the application or the physical characteristics of the component.
The treatment takes place in a closed cabin, where our operators blow fine grains of glass against the aluminum blanks. This achieves a uniform surface and a nice finish on the entire item.
Blowing is a pre-treatment process that can be equated with other mechanical pre-treatments such as grinding, brushing and polishing.
HAI can blow glass profiles up to 8 meters in a continuous plant and offers economically advantageous glass blowing in fully automatic plants.
