Horsensian vending machine manufacturer Rikard Rohdemejer laid the seed for today's business when, at the beginning of the last century, he began nickel-plating, chrome-plating and silvering the handles and doors of his vending machines. With the surface treatment, he achieved that the machines looked inviting and salable - even without regular cleaning.
The basis for today's company arose when Rikard Rohdemejer's son, John Rohdemejer, began to take an interest in the development of anodizing methods in 1949. He quickly worked his way to useful results - and in 1950 started HAI the actual production of anodizing.
From 1978 until 2009, son Finn Rohdemejer, the 3rd generation of the family, was responsible for the management and operation of HAI. Interest in new surface treatments and improved production methods continued, and the steady development led to no fewer than 28 additions to the company.
Today, the management is taken over by Jan Rohdemejer, the 4th generation of the family, while Finn Rohdemejer continues as chairman of the board in the company. Jan Rohdemejer will continue the development of the company, then HAI remains the preferred supplier of aluminum surface treatments to customers from home and abroad.
