Mechanical brushing gives a surface structure that leaves fine bands in the direction of brushing. The bands vary with the customer’s choice of brush.

Advantages/Disadvantages:
- Economically advantageous compared with hand brushing
- Brushing possible on straight and arched surfaces
Application:
- Decorative items
- Technical items where a high degree of roughness is required
Effect on scratches and minor flaws in the surface:
- Gives a structured surface
- Removes the naturally forming oxide layer
Structure and appearance after treatment:
- Fine bands in the direction of brushing
- Bands vary according to the coarseness of the brush
Suitable alloys:
- Alloys of aluminium, the most extruded profiles and sheets
- Where a high lustre is required pure alloys should be used

We have a grinding band suitable for your grinding needs regardless of application or the physical characteristics of the component.
Grinding bands from K50-K600, or Scotch-Brite from Very Fine (blue) to Medium (red) are used for aluminium.
