Keramo Burnishing
Keramo burnishing
Blanks are burnished in a batch process where the blanks are burnished mechanically using keramo chips and burnishing paste.
Advantages/Disadvantages:
- Does not achieve any significant deburring
- Economically advantageous for large batch sizes
- Dimensional limitations
Application:
- Where a fine deburring is desired
- Cast components
- Punched components
- Laser cut components
- Mechanical components
Effect on scratches and minor flaws in the surface:
- Gives smooth surfaces
- Masks/removes minor surface defects
Structure and appearance after treatment:
- Smooth, flat surface
Suitable alloys:
- Zinc alloys
- Brass alloys
- Stainless steel alloys
- Not suitable for alloys of aluminium
