Chemical Pickling
Chemical pickling
Chemical pickling is the most widely-used pre-treatment method.
Through a safe, efficient and careful pickling of the aluminium product in our alkaline bath, the natural oxide layer is removed prior to the subsequent anodisation.
Technical specifications:
- E6
Advantages/Disadvantages:
- Gives a matt and uniform surface structure
- Cannot be used for blanks with machining fits without stripping - or previous dialogue
Application:
- Construction profiles
- Facing elements
Effect on scratches and minor flaws in the surface:
- Masks minor scratches and drawing ands from extrusion
- Removes the naturally forming oxide layer
Structure and appearance after treatment:
- Semi- to fully-matt surface depending on the pickling process
Suitable alloys:
- Alloys of aluminium, the most extruded profiles, sheets and forged blanks
- Cast goods should not be pickled
