Chemical Deoxidation
Chemical deoxidation
Chemical deoxidation does not corrode the aluminium, but instead removes the natural oxide layer prior to the subsequent anodisation. The blank thereby retains its original dimensions.
Technical specifications:
- E0
Advantages/Disadvantages:
- Retains the surface structure of the blank
- Suitable for blanks with machining fits
Application:
- Mechanical components
- Technical items
- Decorative items
Effect on scratches and minor flaws in the surface:
- All scratches and flaws that are on the blank prior to the surface treatment will be fully visible after the surface treatment
Structure and appearance after treatment:
- Is used for blanks that are, for example, ground in order to retain as much grind structure as possible
Suitable alloys:
- Alloys of aluminium that are suitable for anodisation
