Storage
In order to safeguard the profiles prior to anodisation, they must be stored indoors and in a relatively dry place. If this is not possible, we recommend a protective anodisation so 5 my, or the application of a film that both prevents pitting and therefore cavities in the final anodisation. HAI can arrange both parts.

Protection
The possibility of damage requires that the blank is ground and possibly also brushed prior to the subsequent treatment. The pickling that is performed prior to anodisation can only partially remove damage.

Aluminium building components must not be subjected to impacts or scratches. Therefore, aluminium building components must not be installed until the masonry, stucco, plastering and sheet work has been completed in order to avoid damage to the surface from lime and cement spillages.

Building materials that act as alkalines, especially during the hardening phase, will attack the oxide layer. The building materials must therefore be rinsed with lots of water.

If the masonry and plastering work is not carried out until the aluminium components have been incorporated, the aluminium must be covered with a synthetic film. The film is applied so that the sections overlap each other. For window frames, which must be protected against acidic and alkaline solutions in particular, the film extends from the bottom to the top in order to improve water drainage.

Delivery
Blanks for anodisation should be packaged when delivered. The purpose of the packaging is to protect against damage, which easily occurs in aluminium as it is a relatively light material.
